My same views.

China was doing their stuff, Bush and Obama, both, looked the other way. DJT was the first to confront the Chinese said Steve Bannon.

Xi JInping elevated the "Winner Takes it All" Chinese strategy to a level no one was expecting. The rest of the world was seeing as the China of Deng. It wasn't.

Not going into politics but now confronting China is a bipartisan idea. There is no way a democrat president would return to pre 2016 and accommodate China.
