The answer is 106. Congrats to GrumpyGus. It took him three tries to see the light, but see the light he did. He was given the choice of a million dollars in gold bars or a soup recipe, both courtesy of SI Admin Ron. Pretty sure he'll choose the soup recipe. OK, kinda sure. :)

Math Line 1: Shoe = 30 / 6 = 5
Explanation: Three pairs of shoes means six shoes. 6 shoes times X = 30, so X = 5, the value of one shoe.

Line 2: Man = 20 - 10 (2 shoes) = 10. 10 / 2 = 5
Explanation: Man + Man + two shoes (2 x 5 = 10) = 20. So two men = 20 - 10 = 10. 10 / 2 = 5, the value of one man.

Line 3: Lace = 13 - 5 (man) = 8. 8 / 4 = 2
Explanation: Two pairs of laces (four total) + 5 (man) = 13. So four laces = 13 - 5 = 8. 8 / 4 = 2, the value of one lace.

Line 4: Shoe + ((Man wearing 2 shoes holding 2 laces) x lace)
Row Answer: 5 + ((5 + 10 + 4 = 19) x 2 = 38) = 43
Explanation: The man (5) is wearing a pair of shoes (2 x 5 = 10) and holding two laces (2 x 2 = 4). 5 + 10 + 4 = 19. PEMDAS rules say multiplication takes precedence over addition. That means the attired man (19) x laces (2) = 38. Then we add the lone sneaker (5). 38 + 5 = 43.

Final answer. 30 + 20 + 13 + 43 = 106
Explanation: The question was not the sum of the final row, but of the final column! If you said 43, it means you likely got tripped up on reading comprehension, not math. :)
