Hank, you are obviously nuts! Now you're talking to yourself. What you need is a good dose of a cerebral decongestant. Glenlivet works wonders. You will be on the road to recovery when you recognize that charts don't work!

You know, charting starts out innocently enough ... drawing straight lines through a bunch of points. Maybe you call the psychic hotline, maybe you hire an unemployed dowser as a technical analyst. But as the psychedelic experience only whets the appetite for increasing arcana, like a drug fiend you grope for your next graphical fix. I once saw a chartist trying to use a Jackson Pollock mural as a basis for stock picks.

But the Tao of predicting the unpredictable is elusive. And inevitably your search leads you from vestal virgins to haruspex, which in turn decimates the avian population (have you noticed how few virgins there are now that charting has become popular?).

As Emily Dickinson wrote, "Hope is the thing with feathers", and you are well on the way to establishing global despair as you inch ever closer to the abyss with bird innerds in hand. No longer will we have the sweet twittering of the canary. Gone forever!

Enough of my philosphical insights.

Regards,

Paul
