Please note:

The source of today's "total infected" and "total dead" data points is different. Through yesterday, I'd been using John Hopkins CSSE for data source for new points, however today, I used Worldometer as the data source instead.

The reason for this source change is that the increase in U.S. deaths coming from John Hopkins was so large, that I am convinced they have made an error. I've have seen some big errors in their data before, however these errors are usually quickly fixed - like within an hour. This error has been posting since yesterday.

But the change is too large to be believable; if I'd used the John Hopkins data, it would show 4,926 new deaths in USA since yesterday, which is outside and above any reasonable expectations for new deaths. Using the Worldometer source, new US deaths for today is 2495, which is in-line with expectations. I'll confirm my assessment that JHCSSE has an error and is temporarily posting bad data for today, and that as a result my decision to change data sources for today was correct, tomorrow.
