When she said that, she was rightly referring to the WHO having been involved in a lot of virus coordination and that they dropped the ball this time. She was rightly pointing out that COVID is not the first virus to leak out of China and that the US was listening, like all other countries, to the WHO, even as they were parroting the Chinese Communist Dictatorship saying there was no human to human transmission and that it was racist and xenophobic to shut down flights from China.
Now, in hindsight, when all other countries implemented the same policies, Trump and his doctors look decisive and quick in comparison. But the people who screwed this up, need to be held accountable. WHO cannot do their jobs effectively if they are more worried about political correctness than facts, data, and scientific inquiry. Their job is to hold all members accountable for FULL transparency and to follow world guidelines for contact tracing and investigations into the origins of viruses. China broke all the rules in their clamp down on information, silencing of their doctors who did their own investigations, and in hiding the extent of the spread and the initial leak from the Wuhan bio lab.
Now, both WHO and China must be held accountable. Actions have consequences. Of course, I fully expect liberals like you to side with Communist China. After all, it is your party that is the party of Communists and Socialists like Bernie and AOC. |
