Then why did Obama do none of those things? The bottom line is that both sides ARE responsible. Our pandemic preparedness is a bipartisan issue. Anyone blaming one party is just playing politics. With the information now coming out, we're finding out that the US has been funding the Wuhan laboratory since the Obama years. Why? What were we thinking? And why did we not act to be more careful and to push for more transparency? Why did the WHO parrot what China said? Why did US governors not prepare? Why did they not spend the money they needed for their state stockpiles? Why did they not pay attention to the decline of their hospitals surge capacity? There were failures all around and that will need to be assessed and corrected.

But one conclusion that is becoming very clear. This wholesale nationwide shutdown was unnecessary. Taiwan proves it. Sweden will likely prove it in the end with herd immunity as well. Mass hysteria prevailed, instead of common sense.

The 22 million unemployed people will judge you and our leaders harshly for what has been done them.
