Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) has been given the green light by China's antitrust authority for its proposed acquisition of Mellanox Technologies Ltd.(MLNX) clearing the path for the deal to be completed this year.

In addition to China's regulatory approval for the deal, the company has received clearances from regulators of the European Commission and Mexico. This also follows the expiration of the waiting period under U.S. antitrust laws, Nvidia(NVDA) said Thursday.

Nvidia (NVDA) agreed to acquire Mellanox(MLNX), a maker and supplier of Ethernet switches and adapters that connect computers to each other, last year for $125 a share in cash, placing the transaction's value at about $6.9 billion.

Shares of Nvidia(NVDA) rose 4.7% at $294.05 and Mellanox's(MLNX) shares notched up 1.8% to $124.61.

The deal is expected to close around April 27.
