Lockheed, although it occurred before Chrysler.

As far as giving billions to the brokerage houses is concerned, the only thing that bears a faint resemblence is the copious liquidity provided to the banking system after the crash. The price of this liquidity was a decrease in the value of the currency a in ensuing years, which may have contributed to the recession of the early 90's by limiting the Fed's options at that time.
