Terms of Use. Generally, you're not suppose to hurl insults at people or post porn or spam these boards. There are other rules. They were generally good rules to keep the boards and other platforms at least a little bit sane, but they seem to have become more extensive over time and have been increasingly enforced across many platforms as the US and its citizens decide we should be more like the USSR. Basically, the problem with these kinds of rules is that eventually the admins start to liberally interpret them to be anything they don't like.

For SI, the bottom line is If you violate them, then you get warned with a "jail" sentence, which suspends your account for a period of time. If you get jailed, I think 3 times, then your account is "banned", which means you lose your account. You can create another account, but you lose all your history. For example, I've been on these threads since 1996, darned near the beginning of it all. I've only been "jailed" once that entire time, which was just the other day. I'm not sure why, but I think it is because I called Sylvester a "libtard", which as you know is very well deserved, since he posts non-stop drivel and insults at everyone. So I was jailed. I have a lot of patience, sometimes endless patience to engage with people with differing opinions, but even I lose patience with people eventually.

Anyway, the social media boards are alive with gestapo nowadays, so read the TOUs. SI is not too bad in the scheme of things. If you want to get really angry, check out what they do to conservative opinions on Twitter and Youtube. Over there, they don't even try to hide their liberal biases. They will just ban you for posting conservative opinions without even trying to hide behind their TOUs. For example, there were several very prominent twitter accounts that were banned a month or two ago for posting articles from Asia that accused China of covering up the virus' origins being from Wuhan and the bio lab there. The liberals that run those companies were more concerned about their stupid idea that it is racism to call it the Wuhan virus, instead of the fact that it came from there and it is important to hold China accountable for the damage they have done to the world. Now everyone is making the same accusation, but when it is liberal posters making the accusation, it's ok. If it's a well known conservative poster, then they ban the account for posting "misinformation". Very interesting state the West has found itself in. Goebbels, Marx, and Lenin would both would be proud of how far the West has fallen when it comes to free speech. So much for free political speech in the public digital square, eh?
