I remember that. That was an interesting period of time. At that time, I was disturbed by the amount of personal insults and wanted to moderate the thread to try to keep the dialogue a bit more civil. I have a high tolerance for people, but thought the threads contained a bit too much of the personal attacks, so wanted to moderate to cut down on that a bit.

The SI Admins said that if I was voted in by majority rule, he would make me the monitor. So we conducted a poll and then I won, but he changed his mind and decided to keep the thread open. You know the reason he gave? He said this thread had the most posts of any other thread and they wanted to keep it open and unmonitored so that it would continue as it was, presumably to keep it the highest volume board due to the unfettered nature of it, despite all the personal attacks they knew were going on. They didn't want a monitor policing people and banning people, because they were afraid it would lower the volume of posts. So things went on like they always have.

And then here we are with the SI Admins complaining about how free wheeling the board is, posting warnings, and jailing people for personal insults. Kind of ironic and contradictory, don't you think? Anyway, I don't make the rules, obviously. So we'll live by the rules or get jailed or banned. It is what it is. I guess the SI admins now have the job of monitoring, since they didn't want any of us to do it. Karma is a tough B.
