There isn't a lot of difference between stupid and stupid.
If you are on a political board that keeps mixing in the terms democrat and coronavirus then you are probably going to be real surprised at how many people stupid can kill when it is proud of being stupid. The coronavirus cares little about politics but is happy to take advantage of stupid. You are either doing a great job or you are hoping China has more coronavirus deaths so your not dead last in protecting the people, dead last. Excuse the adjective. I truly believe that stupid is just one noticeable side effect of a much deeper issue and I think that is the case beyond any doubt. Others think the braying and is just Eeyore being Eeyore but I do not, I watch and I see and I have a lifetime of dealing with high functioning but ill, stupid is just stupid. My brother once breathed fumes from a can of oven cleaner to try and clear out his sinuses. I would say that was stupid but it really was more than that, it was stupid though. Stupid may not know, stupid may just be stupid. Stupid may not be uttering falsehoods, stupid may just be stupid. Stupid shows up in little things and in big things. I can say with absolute certainty that when a large number of Americans get unnecessarily killed by stupid, then you will have to decide about stupid. Stupid isn't a Republican, stupid isn't a Democrat, stupid is just stupid.
The inability to listen to intelligent people and act on what they are telling you is one of the hallmarks of stupid and proud of it. Bush was stupid but he knew when he was being stupid. If Bush actually believed the Queen had been there at the signing of the Declaration of Independence and insisted on making policy based on that belief there would be a problem. I understand that the economic pressure on some businesses that are very close to closing shop is real but death is pretty final. I think starting in a month or so we will be able to take a more in depth look at the actual consequences of being stupid and proud of it. That the virus is winning hands down is pretty clear to me, I am not going out dancing anytime soon. If you are on a political thread that keeps pretending that the worst performance of any country or any leader on this planet in the current crisis is something that Eeyore can change by braying a lot, then you are stupid. |
