Speaking for myself only,

I see plenty of educated Republicans with JD's and even MD's from "top schools." Many of the Dentists and MD's I know are Republicans and/or libertarians while my anecdotal observation is that nurses are more Democrats; just throwing that out there. Obviously there are different schools of economics between highly educated intellectuals.

Education didn't make them liberals. Or make them agree with me even though I've convinced myself I'm correct. :-)

From the other side, Jill Stein graduated cum laude from Harvard College where she studied psychology, sociology, and anthropology -- and then Harvard Medical School.

All people are a combination of nature and nurture. And we express it with mental diversity.

Every human has intrinsic gifts or propensities, and much can be be learned beyond our "nature."

While privilege plays a big role in "nurture" and subsequently "social waste" - it is we liberals who try to level the advantages so all people can maximize their merit -- for our planet and our society. But some of those people who break through and become MD's, JD's and PhD's etc. may not choose the left, or support the next oppressed groups.

We will always have the intellectual conflict. The best we can do about that is civility and protecting freedom of speech.
