Donald Trump probably shouldn’t have told this particular lie about Kim Jong Un
Bill Palmer | 10:45 pm EDT April 20, 2020 Palmer Report » Analysis

During his press briefing on Saturday, Donald Trump randomly claimed out of nowhere that he’d received a “nice note” from murderous North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. You’d have to ask Trump why he thought this was something to brag about. On Sunday the North Korean regime asserted that no such note had been sent. This raised questions about why Trump would lie about such a thing, and why North Korea was so sensitive to such a lie.

Now we’re getting some answers – at least partial ones. CNN is reporting tonight that Kim Jong Un is in “grave danger” following some kind of unspecified surgery. NBC News tweeted that Kim may be “brain dead” but then deleted it, stating that it was awaiting additional confirmation. The reports are all over the place, but considering how Kim was absent from a crucial North Korean event on April 15th, it appears he’s been incapacitated for as much as a week.

This means Donald Trump was indeed very probably lying about having just received a “nice note” from Kim Jong Un. It also explains why Kim’s regime was so quick to shoot down Trump’s lie. We all know that Trump lies constantly and doesn’t need a particular reason for doing so. But it’s still just plain weird that he made up such a strange lie about Kim for no reason. Just his luck, it turns out he’s apparently gotten busted in this lie for the most surreal of reasons.
