You have guts and chose to respond, whereas most remain silent and closed within the wall of their dogmatism.

I follow this board because it was very helpful when I was making a transition from "trading in order to grow my NAV" to "investing for financial independence through passive income." There was a poster with the handle chowder who made a similar transition and I followed him here. Member 7630127 He made over two thousand posts on this board, but now posts on another site (SA), where he has a couple of public portfolios but he's not selling a newsletter or anything like that.

I don't post very often, and make only a couple of trades a year. I don't (usually) comment on other people's holdings, my silence is not dogmatism, my decisions have been made and objectives reached, I don't need to re-litigate . I think I have posted the tickers of my holdings at least once, but I'm not here looking for "picks" or new trades. Some of the most valuable discussions on this board have been around taxes, SS, Medicare, those retiree concerns where shared experience is very valuable.

and decided to invest in JNJ

I have owned JNJ since 1996, welcome aboard :)
