I had them keep my mother on the suggested medication. She was COVID positive and at my fathers side when he died. She was on O2 and biPAP prior to the COVID with restrictive lung disease and 87 years old..She had developed a cough and PO2 dropped to 82. Every day I called them and told them to not discontinue the medication. She is to come home today. They were amazed at how her PO2 stabilized. I went to the chart of an impaired patient today whose roommate died from the virus. On 4/1 he had been placed on your suggested medication for a UTI. Any coincidence? Easy to test by retrospective chart review or adding the medication IV to a dying patients medical regime. That is the reason I had to do my part and pass it on.
