My mother was in the hospital twice during March and April and my father was also admitted twice during March and April. My father also went out once for x-rays and a transfusion to the emergency room. They were both were in the nursing home when they became symptomatic from the virus. It would’ve taken two caretakers during the day and at least one night to take care of them at home and I discussed this with a home health agency which indicated at least five or six people will be coming in and out of the house It would also make it more likely they would need to get medical care inthe emergency room. My guess is at least half of these most vulnerable patients have already had the virus.
During the next stage elderly shelter at home will gradually get the virus as well as those who need to get cancer and other medical treatment on a regular basis and have been avoiding it. These will include those that need elective surgery.
The trailing patients will be younger patients with immune disorders and cancers and men in their 30s and 40s with coronary artery disease which has not yet been detected. Some of these have already succumbed to the virus and this is probably the saddest group as many will leave young families behind
By the way has anyone been following India? Total death rates in many states are 25 to 75% below the total at the same time last year The media is shocked by the low number of deaths in India and still thinks it coming. It’s not. Modi made a big mistake for India but even sadder he could’ve been an example for the developing world The WHO is corrupt, incompetent, and a killer of people They are not even experts although if they were I would listen to the one in 1000 brain on this board over them any day
