My view of it has nothing to do with the media version, or the range of opinion on the internet... which in fact is mostly irrelevant, as it has been largely scrubbed of all relevant reference... So, I disagree with you even about the utility of the internet... and what is lovely and dangerous about it. The primary reality about the internet... is that relying on it ensures the near perfect and near complete ability to rewrite history at any given moment... on any given subject... That still leaves a near impossible task in trying to write a history that avoids massive cognitive dissonance... always ending, again, in "who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes"... Propaganda... based on repeating the same lie over and over again until everyone believes it... while those who do not believe the lie are dismissed as mere cranks... That works. And it's what the modern media exist to do... That's why you see the corporate aggregation in the structure of the media ? So, your news is the corporate version of what they want you to believe... and truth has nothing to do with it ?
