As far as I know, the WSJ article implying that Intel is using (or has ordered) ASM steppers is false. Intel has actually used steppers from SVGL and Nikon, and I know there was a big rumor that Canon's presentation to them was predicted to result in orders. But I've never even heard a rumor that they were doing business with Intel. And their explosive growth has been in Asia, with DRAM fabs, and in Europe.

However, Intel can be very close-mouthed and considering the excellence and high cost of the ASM product, you'd think Intel -- which isn't hurting for cash -- would be a more likely buyer than a DRAM fab in Taiwan or Korea. Also, if it were true, someone at Intel or ASM would be more likely to tell someone at the WSJ about it than me (LOL).
