Don,
Thanks for the posts! I know you are a big believer in sales driven stock prices, but I think HEC will be taking a little different tangent.
I couldn't buy HEC at this point if I didn't believe discovering reserves would cause a significant change in price. Getting onstream with sales could take a long time, especially given the Columbian situation.
My approach is to look for a small company that has opportunity to find significant increases in reserves, and thus a significant impact on their balance sheet. This will come before sales has an effect, and probably generate some acquisition proposals at the very least. So I guess I would think of your approach as a little more long term. I also hope that during the exploration period there are opportunities to buy and sell (at a profit) just from rumors. Then there is the time factor.
To speculate on HEC's future sales, at this time, seems premature.
Although they are doing great, the odds of them finding this multi-billion barrel field are pretty slim. The odds of them being the ones to end up selling the product is even greater. So, in my humble insignificant opinion, I believe the play is based on TRYING to find the "elephant" (huge reserves).
It is of no real consequence, since it appears that we both have found HEC as a possible way to pursue our objectives.
I was sure glad to see oil bounce a little yesterday too!! Not so much for HEC's benefit, but for my own operations.
Keep the good information coming. I appreciate this thread and all of its participants.
