There are lots of ways we could reduce the population by reducing pregnancies, yes indeed. And any one of them would result in the government officials who implemented them being removed from office.
1. Pay 13 year olds $5000 to be sterilized, without regard to race or social class. Guess how that would turn out.
2. Make birth control cool and fun and profitable.
3. Bribe the Pope, and the Imams and Buddhist and Hindu priests to support birth control.
4. Tell poor people all over the world that the one thing they have... the ability to have children is no more.
Good luck with that.
5. Have a war. I really don't like that one but it would work.
6. Read about a really creative solution in a certain book when it comes out later this year.
7. Oh yeah, and convince big business that we need to stop growing, build fewer cars and big-ass SUVs,
designer baby carriages and ripped leg blue jeans. (Really far fetched)
8. Abortions but I'm not even gonna bring that up. (I don't like abortions, myself but I would never tell a woman she has no right to one).
9. Finally: Totalitarian regimes world wide dictate who has kids and who doesn't.
Wharf is right. It's already too late.
