As long as the chocolate donuts keep coming on Mondays we are good. Horribly unhealthy. But between liberty and donuts, a tough weighing. Throw in the Portuguese egg tarts and a Black Forest cake, worries about liberty can wait.
The lockdown shall ease on 1st May, in five stages, and the path through the stages shall be determined by the authorities as they go. Stage 1 involves what is close to the thread’s heart, that the mines shall re-open, together w/ all machineries to with digging, grinding, milling, soaking, roasting, smelting, minting, and end-to-end logistics. International flights may resume assuming any airlines still able to buy jet fuel.
We are not in any hurry to decamp, because (1) we do not want to be on the first planes after no-flights, so that the planes can get limbered up, and (2) we do not want to transit Jo’berg, Europe, or N America. Besides, as arrival in HK entails 14-days home quarantine, we shall enjoy the sun in Cape Town whilst we can and let HK warm up a bit. The schools are not physically open anyways.
Frankly, if someone tells me I need to make home in Cape Town, am okay. We go some more restaurants to try, and some dishes to repeat. Cape Town is nice. We lucked out w/ our exploration.
South Africa and Cape Town may be two separate stories. Dunno.
Constantia winery / restaurant valley is about 7 km from where we are, and wine tasting cost next to nothing, and about same for food. It is like Napa, except less crowded, better weather, and closer to ocean (oysters go well w/ the wines).
Am not done w/ Cape Town yet. Good that daughter fully intends to continue her charity work w/ the local outfits, connecting them to Hong Kong enthusiastic support.
This episode of global pandemic has been super for the kids learning.
Meantime, the kids play portfolio looks so, YTD. The Jack and Coconut running neck to neck, by different path, and both up ~27%
They both understand why they are in DRD. They strongly disagree w/r to necessity of playing w/ TSLA
