Yes, you're quite right that it's the "FBI's Job" to do just that.

HOWEVER, when you had the likes of Brennan at the CIA and Comey at the FBI they made sure that the lower echelons in their respective Divisions didn't know what the F*ck they were up to !!

Brennan has been the MAIN CULPRIT IN THAT FALSE DOSSIER SAGA ON WHICH THE WHOLE CASE AGAINST TRUMP WAS BASED.

He initially fed Comey false information from the Steele Dossier, and when Comey found stuff of his own that originated from the Steele Dossier he assumed that it was correct because it tied in with what Brennan had told him, NOT REALIZING THAT ALL THE INFORMATION ACTUALLY CAME FROM THE SAME SOURCE !!

Then, on top of it all, Comey DID NOT VERIFY ANY OF THE INFORMATION as he should have done according to the conditions of getting a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump team. Don't forget the CIA cannot get FISA warrants. Only the DOJ and the FBI can do that. Which was why Brennan had to convince Comey that he had the required "information" to do just that.

And on top of it all that useless prick, Jeff Sessions, recused himself from anything to do with the "Russian Collusion" business. That meant that his CROOKED Deputy, Rod Rosenstein, was in charge of the DOJ side of things and he appointed that useless Ars*hole, Mueller, to head the "Special Investigation" ..... and we all know how that FIASCO ENDED !!!
