The option trades reported yesterday were in advance of the latest earnings report, issued today. The earnings were well above analyst expectations, and the guidance for the coming quarter was also strong. The company appears to be supplying controllers or related devices to the rapidly expanding cloud storage business.

SIMO pre-announces revenues and gross margins about a week after each quarter ends. The actual report yesterday was in line, not exciting. EPS beat strongly, but that was due to reversal of a previously tax accrual, not due to operations.

SIMO's sales of controllers to cloud business is less than 10% of sales. Tiny, but expected to grow.

None of that explains some entity buying/selling options worth 1 million shares of SIMO stock. That volume is MASSIVE for little SIMO and it's almost non-existent options trading..
