Quarantines and other public health measures go back to the Revolution and before. Requiring people to wear masks in public is a mild measure imo. Ditto for limits on the size of crowds in stores (here they're at 25% of capacity now).

Yet I read posts from people in my own neighborhood angry and vowing not to wear masks in public. It's an affront to their liberty they say. They're just assholes who don't care about public health,
