Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-
M'name's not Zeev! Ain't Rose, neither.

But I like the point you made. Trouble is, the market often burps (eg. sells off a couple of hundred Dow points) for what to me is no apparent reason, and then recovers. So following your advice would, for me anyway, mean selling into burps. The only way I'll know it's the Big Kahuna is if it keeps tumbling, and then stays down. By then it's foolish to get out. So I figure I'll more or less forget about timing the bear and just hope that I have the intestinal fortitude to to remain invested when the DOW drops >30%, as I expect it to do at least twice more in my lifetime. As for buying the dips- well I can take the social opprobrium associated with being a "dipster", but I haven't made any money since I started buying this dip last September. I should lodge a complaint with Management!
