My son is a manager at a outdoor recreation type place that handles skis and mountain bikes. Several weeks ago he had to participate in laying off several of the young people that assist him in maintaining and setting up the gear. He felt pretty bad about it. Now he's involved in calling them up and trying to get them back to work. He just discovered they are making more on their "unemployment" checks than he is working. And they don't want to come back to work any time soon. My son used to be very liberal. He's gotten more conservative the past few years. Age and responsibilities and, as he says, "trying to get work out of man-children", does that to you, I guess. lh
