Hi Penni, that makes sense, I wish I could say I was anger free when I whipped out my belt on Ryan after he crashed a hole in a four foot window, but alas I can't.

Thank God the kids are generally responsive to my booming voice when they get out of control. I try the military techniques. TEN HUT! NOW REPORT WHY YOUR NOT LISTENING TO MOM!! A bit of a joke but it actually works ok. :-)

I'm not sure I agree with you about the teachers. I think it depends on the offense. A big paddle hanging in the principles office was a pretty effective deterrent when I was in grade school. As long as it's ritualistic and for a serious offense I can deal with a few paddles.
