I pointed out that what China did worked and the world is doing what they did.
That's still not a valid analogy. For China, people starving due to a lockdown is "irrelevant."

Most countries issued lockdowns in order to "flatten the curve." The assumption here is that there will always be a given number of people who are going to be infected anyway, so it's better to just spread out the infections over a longer period of time until herd immunity is achieved:


China, however, issued a lockdown in order to stop the spread cold turkey. They can do that because of their police state, but it comes at a cost, even for them.

Now they're gonna have to closely track their citizens every move, even closer than before. Plus they're gonna have to severely restrict foreign visitors and immigration. No herd immunity for them.
