Frank and all: Sorry about periodically posting the stock price. Guess I just see it as pretty well THE most valuable piece of information about a given stock. It cuts through all the crap and BS, and tells you what you really want to know -- what can I get for my shares? how much will it cost to buy? where's the market? what's the latest trend?

Personally, I think that the S.I. discussion forums are a great and convenient place to get the latest status of a stock in one swoop. Personal comments, charts, links, quotes, lies, research reports, news releases, rumours, false rumours -- I'll take 'em all! This applies doubly for a company like JDS, which is probably the quietest and least-followed $2.1B success story around. If it wasn't for this forum, I'd definitely know a lot less about JDS. I also see the forums as a 2-way street -- try to contribute as much as I take. If I don't happen to have any juicy inside info to give out, I guess a quote is better than nothing.

Oh well, what can I say? My investment style is to take a way-too-large position in only a few stocks at a time, then watch and trade them closely. I certainly follow things MUCH more closely and with more interest than most. As a result, I'll admit, I can sometimes post a lot.

So as my immediate contribution to this group, I'll now stop posting for a while. Should help make it a bit easier and quicker to keep tabs on JDS. Plus, it'll save everyone from having to read the full-length analyst's research report I just finished formatting and was about to -- you guessed it -- post. Once JDS moves back up to the mid-to-high 80's again (and I fully expect it will), I'll be checking in again to see why the stock went up. Man, this is going to be real hard... to just "lurk"... but I'll do my best.

Sincerely,

-- Paul

PS: JDS last @$78.00/sh, +$4.75 on 246,000 shares (2:40pm EST)
