FBI's predicate for opening Trump/Russia investigation was that George Papadopoulos, unpaid volunteer, had "suggested the Trump team had received some kind of suggestion from Russia" that it could release some kind of "unclear" information.

A terrible, preposterously weak predicate.

Now we learn that FBI itself didn't even see that predicate as legit.

Asked why FBI didn't seek a FISA on Papadopoulos -- i.e. the predicate -- McCabe testified Papa's comment "didn't particularly indicate that he was the person that had had -- that was interacting with the Russians."
