Ok to indulge in the forbidden a bit when locked down.

I made green enchiladas yesterday for lunch for a group of similarly reclused. Nice warm day, ate poolside, celebrated college graduation of friend’s son. Belated Cico de Mayo feast, though I have never understood Cinco as it is a far bigger pseudo holiday in USA than it ever was in Mexico, at least when I was there.

If you like Corona beer, you’ll love Pacifico. I’m not much of a beer man, but mandatory with my enchiladas. A hot climate beer.

A fall/winter beer is Negra Modelo. Very, very nice.

Some people like Tecate, but it reminds me of something that originated in a horse’s urinary system.

Am putting away my beloved Islays, e.g., Lagavullin, Caol Isla, Ardberg and Laphroaig, as temperature rises and replacing them with Jack Rudy gin and tonics, especially considering the current need for quinine.

Have been exploring Sicilian reds recently, especially older Nero d’Avolas. A bargain and very good, esp. the Donnafugatas.

I like finding good but unnoticed inexpensive wines. Sicilian reds fit the bill.

Have a nice weekend.
