It is true. We have an estimated 20-30% infection rate already, based on samples taken. Most of those people had such mild symptoms they never reported it to a doctor, much less go to a hospital to be tested. These are simple facts and I've posted those studies as they've become available. That doesn't diminish the fact that 20% of infections are severe and half of those are so severe, they end up in the ICU. However, those 20% are almost all people who are old, or have heart or lung disease. So again, the facts point to an a measured and nuanced response to protect the old and infirm, while letting the young and healthy go about their daily lives, working, and socializing with prudent measures like face masks and social distancing advisories.
This is what adults do. We ignore the fear and make decisions based on logic and data. Liberals, who are almost uniformly infantile and fear based, constantly needing safe spaces, have come to the totalitarian decision that they want all the rest of the US to retreat to safe spaces too. However, I'm a healthy adult. I don't need nor want a safe space. And it so happens, that I'm within my Constitutional rights not to be incarcerated in my home. I will continue to wear a mask and practice social distancing, but no government has the right to force me to be unemployed or to visit my friends and family.
If you are fearful, then you have the right to take the appropriate steps. But leave the rest of us alone. |
