Longnshort, the fact that Travis McMichael brandished a shotgun in the first place is indefensible, because he and his dad initiated the confrontation.

They approached Ahmaud Arbery because, by their own admission, they were trying to make a "citizen's arrest." They deliberately drove in front of him in order to make sure that "thug" wouldn't be able to run away.

Then they brandished the shotgun as a show of force and to intimidate the "thug" into compliance.

To me, the video and the story given by the father and son prove to me that they are guilty of first-degree murder. The self-defense argument doesn't fly with me.
