The only totalitarians around here are the Democrats, who tried to meddle in the 2016 election by getting dirty FBI agents to engage in espionage against a Presidential Candidate, and then followed that up with a coup attempt when he got elected. Then COVID has given both parties plenty of air time and visibility in how they handle the response. Democrats, true to form, have engaged in massive totalitarian overreach, including arresting people for trying to work, beating them up, administering draconian executive orders, banning people from beaches, and other un-Constitutional actions. Republicans have been far more freedom loving, advising people to stay at home, also giving executive orders, but then backing away from those when others down the command chain engaged in overreach. An example of this is the salon owner in Texas getting arrested for opening her salon and the judge throwing her in jail and demanding that she make a groveling apology, which she refused to do. Then the Texas governor amended his executive order to set her free, saying that no one should go to jail for trying to feed their families.

Republicans have acted for the most part with restraint and their states are looking pretty good compared to Democrat states. The worst epicenters have been Democrat Governors. Why is that?
