austin is the best home base to explore from... the hill country is beautiful.

if i lived in tejas, it would be on a sailboat on lake travis... or on a sailboat
in port aransas... or on a sailboat on lake amistad... or on a houseboat on
lake texhoma... or on a bass boat in the bayou around beaumont... or...
or... a raft with a sleeping bag on the river-walk in san antonio... or anywhere
on the rio grande so i could be in mexico in five minutes.<g>

the very best thing about tejas is the southern hospitality. these people
will take you home and feed you the best BBQ in the world and never let
your beer mug go unfilled. you can go quail hunting drunk and shoot yer
friend in the face and they won't even call the cops on you. now that's what
i call hospitality !! :-)
