The wildly inaccurate models led to the past decisions that were made. It is not clear that the same decisions would have been made if today's numbers, heavily weighted toward nursing homes and smaller than initially feared, could have been known in advance.


We were told that we needed to flatten the curve and people cooperated so that hospitals would not be overwhelmed. Then the bait and switch from some of the politicians happened. Flatten the curve (which has happened) turned into need for a cure. Now people are getting angry because the story has changed and looks like an abuse of power situation and a denial of individual rights.
