Andreas,
I could be wrong but I remember back in 1991 (or was it 1992) when CPQ nosedived from approx. $70 to approx. $20. I purchased CPQ in the high $20 range even though some analysts said to short it. I distinctly remember E.P. saying that shorting CPQ was foolish. Anyways, I had to wait at least a year or two for CPQ to recover (the 3:1 split after the ordeal was well worth the wait). CPQ reached its all time high in what, August? September? Its only been several months, and given that CPQ is in far, far better shape than it was seven years ago, I say CPQ is a good stock to own and buy.

"The spokesman couldn't specify the percentage of Dell services provided by Digital, but estimated it to be close to 25 percent. Digital is Dell's second-largest service bureau, and its primary provider in the Asia-Pacific region. "Compaq buys Tandem and guess what? Dell runs their system on Tandem servers. Dell uses Digital for its external services and Compaq buys Digital. They are in a precarious position," said Steve Cohan, president of Entre Computer Centers in Denver."
