Science works this way, a hypothesis is proposed, an experiment is devised to test the hypothesis.
No examinations or data need to be studied, hypothesis - experiment is all.
There is no other way science works TimF.
And yes, until another experiment proves the hypothesis is incorrect, it is the current theory, the truth.
Not dogma, the truth, proven by experiment.
Is it infallible, of course not, is it the truth, of course it is, will it change, of course it will.

Judy Mikovits was discredited by an experiment.
She wasn't discredited dogmatically, an experiment made her shut up and admit she was wrong.
That she has reared her head now changes nothing, her reputation is what it is and she can be completely ignored until she devises an experiment which demonstrates the truth of what she says.
She is free to do that, no one is stopping her.
But when she says that masks make you sick she is just being a blithering idiot.
So, show us the science that supports you TimF. Show us the contest you see?
Would you like to reference the study that resulted in the conclusion that COVID19 can remain in the air for up to eight minutes after someone has spoken?
You can fault the methodology, you can replicate the experiment, you can "study' it all you want.
But science says it is the truth until someone else demonstrates it isn't.
