President Donald Trump returned fire on former president Barrack Obama after Obama attacked the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
President Trump nailed his predecessor, labeling him as “grossly incompetent” on Sunday, responding to a curiously placed Obama attack on Trump during a graduation speech. In the former president’s pre-taped speech, Obama likened his successor’s administration to “little kids.”

Obama continued, “More than anything, this pandemic has fully, finally torn back the curtain on the idea that so many of the folks in charge know what they’re doing. A lot of them aren’t even pretending to be in charge.”
Obama also seemed to talk down on struggling Americans, who are desperately looking to reopen their businesses out of necessity, often in defiance of ongoing coronavirus-related lockdowns.
“Our society and our democracy only work when we think not just about ourselves, but about each other,” he said.
President Trump after returning from a meeting with top officials at Camp David to plan the governments continued response to COVID-19 was asked about Obama’s comments and certainly did not hold back.
“Look, he was an incompetent president. That’s all I can say. Grossly incompetent,” Trump said.
Prior to that the president also defended his administrations response to the outbreak, “We’ve done a GREAT job on Covid response, making all Governors look good, some fantastic (and that’s OK), but the Lamestream Media doesn’t want to go with that narrative, and the Do Nothing Dems talking point is to say only bad about ‘Trump,’” the president tweeted. “I made everybody look good, but me!”
Peter Navarro, the White House economic adviser also fired shots at Barrack on Sunday during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” with host George Stephanopoulos,, “I’m glad Mr. Obama has a new job as Joe Biden’s press secretary.”
Navarro proceeded to bash Obama over his handling of China during the former president’s time in the White House.
“His administration was a kumbaya of incompetence in which we saw millions of manufacturing jobs go off to China,” he said.
Obama’s commencement speech came shortly after he was heard railing against the Trump administration’s response to the pandemic during a leaked phone call to the media.
He called the reaction to coronavirus an “absolute chaotic disaster” and argued the upcoming November election is a fight against “being selfish, being tribal, being divided.”
The Democrats are certainly showing how desperate they are, having Barrack Obama effectively take over Joe Biden’s campaign as Biden hides in his basement after facing scandal after scandal – most recently being the sexual assault allegation of former staffer Tara Reade.
The former president has quickly become the most vocal supporter of Joe Biden after being one of the very last to lend his support for the often incompetent appearing candidate.
President Trump’s current approval rating of 49% supersedes that of his predecessor, who at the same point in his presidency posted a 47% approval rating before going on to win a second term. |
