The problem with placental stem cells is the supply. One small Israeli company Pluristem Therapeutics Inc. reported a remarkable survival rate for a small group of COVID patients that were on ventilators.larger expanded set of trails are underway here and in Europe. Even if successful the impact would be limited. At present there is not enough harvested placental stem cells to treat a very large population.
