Amazon was a major development in how companies can reach profitability despite years of losses but wasn't the only one to follow that growth strategy. Their success is important to understand why it is now not important to measure companies on their profitability but to measure them on their road to profitability or greater profitability. I think we are currently experiencing market dynamics that more than ever will be out with the old and in with the new disruptive ways to do things. If you must stick with the large cap dividend stocks look for companies that are adapting as EKS is doing with EMR is my two cents.
