"GTE is saying 1998 will be the year......." Yeah and with all the Co's rushing to get in on the DSL front, who saids it will be done with WSTL's DSL tech. They only have a small trial going now, Wow!

Maybe what GTE really meant was that mid 1998 will be the year they expand their small trial to maybe 300 homes, because no one is geared for mass deployment. This was also noted in WSTL's conference call! THEIR COST IS STILL TOO HIGH FOR MASS DEPLOYMENT, go back and listen. They're hoping the cost goes down over the next year or two.
