My base case assumption is that Hong Kong and perhaps Switzerland would not shut down their respective gold market.

Hong Kong bank accounts have wrap feature on gold, generally, by ticking a box.

Some banks offer silver and platinum, specifically quoted on different exchanges in various time zones.

Should any large nation shut down its gold exchange, a run would get underway fast enough, as alerting all, “something is wrong, and about to go kaboom”

That day would be a soul-searching day.
