Re: Calculating the next buy/sell targets for GTC Limit Orders........

Q -
Hi Tom,

you said, that you use Limit Orders and price targets instead of the monthly time intervals of AIM. How do you set your "next buy" and "next sell" prices" like in the third chart? Is this based on some technical analysis or is it a formula?

Thanks

The target prices for AIM's trades are calculated from the same data
that is already part of AIM. No technical analysis is used. AIM is
independent from all TA, but usually trades efficiently with TA in mind
even if it is contrary to most short term traders' methods.

On the following page, look at Santos Torres' work on diagrams for AIM.
In the second series he shows how to calculate the next trade targets by
formula.
web.archive.org

I'd created these buy/sell target formulae back in the late '80s or
early '90s but Santos did a far better job of portraying just how they
work.

These can be built into an AIM spreadsheet so that they automatically
give you the target prices after each trade.
They form what I call the Lichello Bands, the prices each side of the
current price/share which need to be achieved to make a trade.
Once a trade is done, the bands shift to show the new band limits.

Best wishes,
OAG Tom
