I thought I specifically heard on CNBC some sort of negative comment specifically targeting the oil service and oil sectors. If anyone can verify that, would appreciate it. Keep in mind the the XOI was actually up, although slightly and the OSX was negative, and still closed near its low.
Regardless, its the interpretation which hurts, and when it comes to news whether correct or incorrect the effect will be felt. I wish I could remember exactly what was said, my broker even heard it.
Glen, personally, I normally stay away from news items until it is worn off, just a rule of thumb. However, I still may enter the OSX on a subjective basis.
