Microsoft claims DOJ seeks 'crippled product' zdnet.com
That being the royal Microsoft here, it's Mr. Bill himself. I guess he's not quite ready to put on those dancing shoes yet, Kinder, Gentler II is on hold for the moment. The old company lines get trotted out one more time, including an old favorite:
Gates said that Microsoft should have had more of a presence in Washington, lobbying for both his company and the software industry, as some of his competitors have been doing in recent years.
"I was a little naive," he said. "I thought I could just work on R&D (research and development) and things would be fine."
Tee hee. Old Bill with his nose to the grindstone back in the labs. That stuff about the middle finger straight from the top, that was just a nasty rumor. I'm sure Fred Moody's being filled in on the proper revisionist history for a future column. Meanwhile, of course, the China deals, the new copyright bill, the software license tax credit- they just materialized out of thin air! Or, maybe it was the Deuce watching out for poor, naive Trey.
Cheers, Dan. |
