Hey I agree with you. I didn't say it was logical, I just tried to explain why it might exist. You also added many good reasons, (not justifications).

Looking over the Thai ADRs I noticed that there were none for Thai banks as I mistakenly mentioned. I do have an international broker who was suggesting buying them directly though. I believe the commission scared me off.

Does anyone have thoughts on Shinawatra Computer & Communications PLC which is available as an ADR, SHWCY ? It was recommended by Vivian Lewis, a newsletter writer, a few years ago when I subscribed.

I appoligize if I am distorting this wonderfully global thread in an American direction, as certainly these problems of ADRs and CEFs do not apply to all.
