Wiz, I wouldn't count on that $4 million hold back from last quarter offsetting much of anything this quarter. With the rebate being extended through January, Iomega will probably hold back a similar amount, thus making for a 3rd quarter hold-back wash. How are they going to account for what could easily be $20 million or more in rebates?

I doubt if they will play games with their numbers. Any switch-a-roos will have to be answered to when the earnings conference happens. Iomega must act like a billion dollar company if it is going to remain one. They can't afford to mislead their shareholders like Syquest who has nothing to lose.

The bottom line is that the rebates are a major factor to consider when estimating both sales and earnings. I have tried to come up with a scenario that could match the analyst's estimates for earnings and sales and have not been able to do so. I would like to see how it could be done.

Regards - Dale
