You certainly got that right, no doubt about it !!

"If the fertilizer price goes up, the stock will respond accordingly. If not, the stock will do miserably"

Seems to me that the stock has been doing "miserably" for THE LAST 4 YEARS ..... that's a fairly lengthy period of time.

Speaking for myself, I'm more into the Financial Fundamentals of a company, Irrespective as to what business they're in. When a company is Losing Money, it's Losing Money, and this will be reflected in its price performance. I think one can see that quite clearly in what has transpired with UAN over recent years.

And when a company's Bottom Line is Negative there's usually not much chance, or incentive, for the Directors to pay a Dividend.

But for the "Short Term" traders there may be occasions to make a few bucks if their "timing" is right .......
