6/12/2020 Contest update

Are microchips immune to the coronavirus? Maybe not, given the way their algorithms freaked out on Thursday in reaction to signs of a Covid-19 recurrence. And although stocks rallied Friday, the gains were not nearly enough to erase Thursday’s carnage.
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 5.03% YTD (vs. up 6.03% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 8.25% YTD (vs. up 11.11% YTD a week ago), the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 7.31% YTD (vs. up 10.27% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) was up 6.30% YTD (vs. up 8.79% YTD a week ago).
FILO’s portfolio, up 127.53% YTD, is still our Contest leader, with JBOG’s portfolio, up 113.39% YTD, holding on to second place. IPOL’s portfolio, up 46.36% YTD, moved into third place.
At Friday's close, 26 of the 42 Contest portfolios were still in the green, with 19 beating the NBI and the same 19 beating the SPSIBI.
The 197 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 19.12% with the YTD median just barely in the green at a 0.15% YTD gain.

Portfolio adjustments: STML buyout by Menarini group at $11.50 plus CVR. To account for the CVR I used $11.83, the 6/9/20 final closing trade of STML, for reallocation.
